This is the Fanlistings Network approved fanlisting for the Replicator version of Vala Mal Doran, a character from Seasons 8, 9, and 10 of Stargate SG-1.
According to TFL.org, a fanlisting is "a web clique that lists fans of a particular subject. Unlike most web cliques, a person does not need a web site in order to join. Fans from around the world submit their information to their approved fanlisting and they are then listed to show their love for the subject."
Vala, played by Claudia Black, first appears in the Season 8 episode "Prometheus Unbound." In my opinion, the episode itself isn't that great, but the character of Vala makes it worthwhile. She hijacks the Prometheus and tries to sell it to aliens. Vala is insane, but in a good, non-evil way; Daniel calls her a "fruitcake" and clearly thinks she's psychotic, but he can't quite fight his attraction to her. They spend most of the episode fighting, both verbally and physically, and there's a few references to sex while they go at it. This fanlisting is called "Wild Card" because when we meet Vala, we're not quite sure what her story is. She tells Daniel a rather long sob-story and claims to have been a former host to a Goa'uld, and though she can use Goa'uld technology, we don't know how much of what she says is true. She appears to be a bounty hunter or mercenary of some sort. Vala is not a genuinely bad person, just bizarre, self-serving, and untrustworthy.
Vala returns in the first six episodes of Season 9. Having uncovered a tablet that leads to some lost treasure, she tricks Daniel (and Cameron and Teal'c) into helping her find it. She links Daniel to herself with bracelets that cause the users to die if separated. The tablet reveals the location of a place with Ancient technology. SG-1 goes after it, only to set in motion a chain of events that leads a group of powerful, Ancient-like aliens, the Ori, to discover the existence of the Milky Way and to begin its "conversion" of the galaxy. In these episodes, we learn a little more about her, including her surname, and the fact that she was actually the host to a Goa'uld symbiote, Qetesh; however, even after the Goa'uld was removed from her, she pretended to be Qetesh in order to take advantage of a backwards planet, though she claims she treated them fairly and set up a trial system that she called the "Mal Doran." In 9x06 "Beach Head," Vala brazenly goes off alone to destroy the Ori's supergate and disappears; we are not sure of her fate.
However, she later shows up at the end of Season 9. Vala, having been transported to the Ori galaxy, communicates to the SGC through Daniel's body, warning them of the impending attack to the galaxy by the Ori. Oh, and by the way, she's married, and through immaculate conception (the result of the Ori), she's now pregnant with a baby.
In Season 10, Vala has her child, who grows into adulthood within several days. Vala's child, whom Vala names Adria after Vala's wicked stepmother, is part Ori and part human. Adria was created to lead the Ori's attack on the Milky Way galaxy, thus preventing any intervention by the Ancients. Although Adria is part Ori, she still has a connection to Vala and seems to want Vala's approval. Mother and daughter (as well as Vala and her husband Tomin) are separated when Daniel rescues Vala from the Ori. Brought back to Earth, Vala stays in the SGC; at the request of Daniel, she undergoes a "test" to determine her trustworthiness, and after she passes, she joins SG-1, though she is not an official member of the team until the end of "Memento Mori."
Amusing with a tendency to say whatever is on her mind - however inappropriate it usually is - Vala makes the first six episodes of Season 9 more enjoyable than they probably would have been otherwise. Although she is quite outrageous in her earlier episodes, she is toned down by the end of Season 9, both by her experiences in the Ori galaxy and the executive producers' decision to make her a permanent cast member in Season 10. However, she still retains the essence of her Vala-ness.
Relationships: Daniel Jackson is the one to whom she is closest. She is both an annoyance to Daniel and someone to whom Daniel feels affection/responsibility. She regularly pesters him and tries to seduce him, but her affection for him is genuine. She seems to alternately annoy and amuse Cameron, but she apparently bonds somewhat with Teal'c, who also appears immune to her flirting. Her relationship with Sam is still developing - Vala is open to showing affection towards Sam, which Sam appears to find occasionally disconcerting. Vala cares genuinely for Tomin, her husband, the man who cared for her and took her in when she arrived in the Ori homeworld, and wants to save him; however, she does not appear to actually be in love with him.
